Our client, the Crafts Council of Ireland, is the representative voice and main champion of the craft industry in Ireland, representing all disciplines of craft practitioners. Its objectives are to foster the growth and commercial strength of the craft sector, communicate its unique identity and stimulate quality, design and competitiveness. It is funded by the Department of Enterprise Trade & Employment through Enterprise Ireland. We have been retained to assist in the appointment of a Project Manager to launch a programme of activities to celebrate 2011 Year of Craft.
Based in Kilkenny and reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for the development, project management and execution of a calendar of activities to celebrate 2011 Year of Craft in Ireland. You will agree and implement an overall strategy, develop a programme of activities and build relationships internally and externally which engage relevant agencies. You will develop a marketing and communications plan to raise Ireland’s profile as a creative destination through ongoing advertising, promotion and public relations campaigns.
The successful candidate will be qualified to degree level with a minimum of five years post-qualification experience in large scale event management. You will have a proven track record in project delivery and excellent organisational and presentation skills. An ability to work both on one’s own initiative and in teams is essential as is a high level of energy and motivation. An understanding and knowledge of the craft and retail sector is desirable.
