CREATIVE PATHWAYS - A Review of Craft Education and Training in Ireland, launched by Minister for Education and Science, Mr Batt O’Keeffe T.D.

9th July 2009

Creative Pathways
The Crafts Council of Ireland launched the first ever comprehensive study into craft education and training in Ireland in Dublin on July 7th, 2009.

The report, entitled “Creative Pathways”, was launched by Minister for Education and Science, Mr Batt O’Keeffe, T.D. The study gives an insight into craft education at primary, second and third level and provides a comprehensive overview of opportunities available through the further and adult education sector and the range of training available to those interested in developing craft skills.

The findings and recommendations in the study will help direct the Council’s efforts to ensure that craft is an integral subject on our curriculum at primary and second level, that there are sufficient third level programmes in place and that there is a range of training and continued professional development opportunities available nationally.
