ALAN ARDIFF
JEWELLER
Jeweller Alan Ardiff combines colour and contrast to create forms that tell stories. He is best known for his miniature kinetic works, which combine whimsical images with intricate processes and articulation to create pieces that are innovative in terms of incorporating movement.
Over the past ten years Ardiff has achieved significant success with his designs both nationally and internationally. He divides his time between his studio in rural Co. Mayo and his bustling Dublin studio and workshop.
Ardiff has won numerous awards for his work, and received public commissions from bodies including the Irish Central Bank, Culture Ireland, the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Art Directors Club of Europe. Ardiff’s work has been exhibited extensively in Ireland and internationally, including SOFA, Chicago, USA, 2006; MWV, Mackintosh Museum, Glasgow, Scotland 2005; Loot, Museum of Art and Design, New York, USA, 2004 and National Museum of Ireland, 2004.
