Artist statement
My personal objective is to excel in my craft. To enable this I must have detailed knowledge of my subjects. Being employed by ecological consultants as a field worker helps in this regard as has my training as a taxidermist. Obviously selling work is important and acts as an incentive to produce more pieces but my aspiration is to produce work that I am truly satisfied with. My career has progressed sporadically but assuredly. I am not inclined to force its progress but am more interested in perfecting my craft.
