Artist statement
The major concerns that my work deals with are a love of the process of throwing a complicated relationship with porcelain and a fascination with the theme of the vessel. I aim to thrown forms to the highest of standards. It is very important to me that the forms be visually strong and extremely well made and finished. My career has led me to constant adjustment and fine tuning of form and skill, resulting in smaller, function driven work as well as a body of more sculptual forms. A healthy sense of the fact that the work can always improve provides the carrot to strive for that improvement. Always aiming to improve on the most recent work. There lies the overall objective to be able to live and work at my passion and to keep striving for clear development of the work.
