Artist statement
Steve is based in Castlefreke, West Cork and has been making bespoke designer furniture, sculpture and musical instruments for the past twenty-five years. He uses a wide range of materials in his furniture and interiors designs, including exotic and native timbers, metals, plastics, precious stones and marble. The work combines traditional craftsmanship with a modern cutting edge and a funky attitude. His training in fine art is reflected in the intricate inlays and decorative motifs incorporated in the work. This, married with a creative engineering background, has led hm to the design of three innovative bass guitars. Steve has been involved in exhibitions around the world, though these days he s happiest at home with his family in the inspiring surroundings of West Cork.
