Spanning two cities, You’ll Never Walk Alone celebrates the strong links between Ireland and Liverpool. The National Craft Gallery in Kilkenny and Liverpool’s prestigious Bluecoat Display Centre will showcase exquisite contemporary craft by some of today’s leading practitioners.
Furniture, ceramics, glass, silver, textiles, baskets and jewellery – although the materials and techniques are different, each artist is renowned for their originality and expertise.
All of the Irish artists in this major exhibition have been drawn from Portfolio, a directory of some of the country’s top craftspeople. Initiated by the Crafts Council of Ireland, Portfolio was selected by a panel of international experts.
Spread across the two galleries in Kilkenny, visitors will see work by the Irish artists paired with English work of similar qualities and considerations. Although living in different countries, these artists share a strong cultural bond and are connected by a passion for contemporary craft.
You’ll Never Walk Alone runs from March 08 to April 27. The National Craft Gallery is open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 6pm and Sundays 11am to 6pm (Apr-Dec only). Admission is free.
