Harnessing Creativity, Capacity Building Workshops.

Are you based in Leitrim, Fermanagh, Tyrone or the surrounding region? Working in the creative sector as a business or independently & interested in taking your work into new markets? Harnessing Creativity is a new project celebrating & enhancing creative and business talent in Leitrim, Fermanagh, Tyrone and the surrounding region. 


The Project will be organising a number of free Capacity Building Workshops over the next few weeks.  The first round of Workshops will be held on Thursday 30th May 2013 and will focus on Marketing and Promotion.  These sessions will be tailored to creative sector businesses interested in taking their work into new markets, it will help creative businesses develop skills to plan and develop a marketing strategy relevant to their own business, covering both online and traditional marketing techniques. Western Development Commission Micro-Loan Fund for the Creative Industries – 3rd Call

Closing Date for this call is last working day of June 2013

The Western Development Commission has established a dedicated Micro-Loan Fund on a pilot basis for the Creative Industries Sector, allocating €1m over a three year period.

The Micro-Loan Fund will operate on a competitive ‘Call for Applications’ basis with four calls in 2013, the second of which is currently open.  Loans of between €5,000 and €25,000 over 1 to 5 years at the EU reference rate for unsecured lending are available to successful applicants. Applications will be accepted from the first working day to the last working day of each quarter (March, June, September and December).

The Music Makers, The Craft of Music on Tour

A fabulous traditional music and film performance entitled The Music Makers that will take place at the Taibhdhearc Na Gaillimhe, Galway on Saturday 20th April at 8pm.
 
In summer 2011 film-maker Myles O’Reilly visited the workshops of four Irish based instrument makers to record them at work. The resulting instruments were placed in the hands of four superb traditional musicians, edited film of the craftsmen was added and the result is a celebration of music making from tree to note.
