It is once more time to pour our dreams and aspirations into exciting projects, to both inspire and be inspired. Be they big or small, simple or complex, cosmic or comical, organic or electronic – we look forward to your proposals with bated breath, as do the people who spend their weekend in awe of your work!

Life Festival 2013 is an arts and music festival in Belvedere House, just outside of Dublin. We are currently taking submissions for large and medium scale art installations.  They can be 3D or 2D, interactive and or light instillations. They are to be built on site and will remain their for the duration of the festival.

Creative Labs 2013 space for fresh thinking in Leitrim, Tyrone, Fermanagh and surrounding counties. Creative Labs are groups of creative people, businesses or practitioners working together to develop inspiring new concepts through open-mindedness, experimentation and collaboration. They will enable practitioners from the creative sector to work with each other, or with individuals from other businesses, on collaborative concepts.

The Labs will be facilitated by mentors able to challenge, guide, inspire and advance discussions from idea generation to models for new products, practices or services. Each Lab session will help participants strengthen skills and knowledge, drawing in new ways on personal creativity, collaborating with others, discussing and connecting with emerging market trends, presenting work to potential investors in a compelling way, and finding new applications for their skills and experiences.

A budget of €15,000 will be available to each of the three labs, which will enable the hire of specialist equipment/materials or workspace, supporting the development of new concepts. The concepts and work in progress of participants will be exhibited as part of a high profile Regional Showcase and Tour. A number of concepts will be supported further and become new products or services in the marketplace that generate an income. The work of the labs will be profiled through the Harnessing Creativity website.

The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI) has issued a call for applications under its Funding Scheme for the Archiving of Programme Material (“Archiving Scheme”).  The Scheme has been designed to provide funding support for the development of an archiving culture in the Irish broadcasting sector, contributing to the preservation of Ireland’s broadcasting heritage.

Expressions of interest are invited by artists for a sculptural commission to be sited in the environs of Killea Village, Templemore, Co. Tipperary-specifically Lisreelin Cross (N52.81984; W007.87344).

It is envisaged that the applicant will create a permanent sculptural piece that will reflect the ethos of this small rural village and in particular the theme local myths and legends.

The total budget for this commission is in the region of €5000, which is to include artist’s fees and all materials, production & installation costs.

The challenge is to re-imagine the design of textile elements of patient rooms at the Mater Hospital, everything from sheets to, curtains to theatre gowns must be transformed from standard issue to truly inspirational!

The Board of Management of Gaelscoil Uí Ríordáin wish to commission an artist to create an artwork for their new school in Ballincollig funded by the Department of Education and Science under the Percent for Art Scheme.

Energy, joy, happiness, colour, warmth and openness are integral components of Gaelscoil Uí Ríordáin and we want to give expression to them through this project, and so we seek proposals that are original, inspirational and appropriate for the primary school age group.
