MAKING IT IN BUSINESS
An Excellent Development Opportunity for Graduates and Emerging Craft Enterprises.  It is open to suitable craftspeople wishing to set up in one of the 35 County Enterprise Board areas.

The ‘Making it in Business’ programme is a joint initiative between the Crafts Council of Ireland and the City and County Enterprise Boards.  This training opportunity is by portfolio interview.

The 2008 /09 programme is currently underway.


The objective of this programme is to fast track and nurture Craft Enterprises to optimise the opportunities in the Mainstream and Collector markets. It is open to suitable participants wishing to set up in one of the 35 County Enterprise Board areas.

For the emerging craft business

The course will provide the opportunity to set up your business in your home county or county of choice.
Business and marketing of a cutting edge standard will be provided to progress your business.
Mentoring support, under the CCoI mentor scheme, for two years following completion of the programme.

  • Assistance with workshop set up under CEBs guidelines.
  • Four weekend Business Training Workshops In Kilkenny
  • Branding and preparation for Showcase
  • Exhibiting at Showcase
  • Sales and Marketing training, mentoring and support.
  • Mentor support
  • CCoI Research Missions
  • Discounted access to all appropriate CCoI initiatives.
  • Access to Craft Council research material and staff.

 


Cost Structure:

A €200 contribution is sought from each participating Craft Enterprise. The Craft Council provides the training venues, the programme content, trainers and the specialist mentor advice.
